The maintenance of a wood cutting board takes about 1 to 2 minutes. Before you are going to use the presentation board for the 1st time, apply a thin layer of mineral oil *. Le Rabot has already applied two layers of oil.
With a cotton cloth rub the wooden cutting board completely with the oil. Then let the treated cutting board to rest overnight. The next day, rub off any excess oil.
If you want to clean the cutting board you can do that with warm water and mild soap, then rinse with warm water and rub dry. It is best for the board if it has dried naturally and been provided with a thin layer of oil.
Initially, the board will faster dry out and look "thirsty". In the beginning, it is more necessary to provide the board with a layer of oil. Later you will notice that only every few weeks a service is necessary.
Odors? Cut a lemon in half. Sprinkle some salt on the shelf and rub the lemon by the sea salt to provide a refreshing boost to your board.
Dishwasher or other heat sources? NO !! Never Absolutely not
Sanding the board? To give the board a smooth appearance again use a 220 grit or higher. Sand the board until you think it is smooth again. Thereafter, apply a little more oil the with normal servicing. Let the oil soak overnight and rub the excess oil off.
